That startles a laugh out of him, and nearly a blush. "The light might catch it," he teases her. "Keep me up all night."

Thomas gives Greta an adoring look, though, because he does love her and through it all, she's brought so much happiness to his life. He shakes his head and leans close to kiss her, tender and lingering.

"I suppose I'll just suffer," he murmurs, trying to sound long-suffering and failing miserably. "The couch is so awfully far away, after the day we've had, don't you think?"
