Greta gives Gabriel's shoulder a fond pat in passing, then lets Thomas divest her of her bags as she steps (or wades, rather, through the still-circling dogs) inside.
"I thought you'd already seen it," Greta says, arching an eyebrow at her daughter. She certainly doesn't seem the least bit surprised, and it belatedly occurs to her that she could have been watching from the window. But she relents a moment later, holding out her hand so Saoirse can see the ring clearly. "What do you think? Does it look better on me than it would on a seal stuffy?" She glances up to shoot Thomas a grin.
