It wasn't difficult to find someone to help them with the paperwork - there was relatively little for adopting such small animals, since they didn't need any kind of licensing. From there, a volunteer gets boxes for them with little holes - just enough for a curious nose to stick out but not enough for an entire head.
Thomas wished he could take all of them, but two seemed the best for right now... Maybe he would come back for more if things went well.
