Thomas tucked his hands into his pocket, like a child trying not to touch everything. They ended up in a room with small animals first; the cats were further through. There were guinea pigs, rabbits, even a couple of chinchillas, a turtle, and a baby corn snake.
He drifted away from Daine, drawn to a cage with a few romping little creatures. Thomas hadn't expected to find rats cute but... the bunch frolicking around the cage were rather cute. The tails didn't bother him a bit.
