"I haven't told anyone," Edith assures him, though it doesn't sound at all as if he thinks that might be the reason for it. In the moment, it seems important to say anyway. At least since Thomas' arrival, she hasn't wanted anyone to know, figuring that should be done on his own terms, if at all. For it to have somehow followed him here... She still doesn't know how that could be possible. "I don't know how they could know. But I'm sure you haven't gone mad."
